The most common issue with the desync is a lack of proper port forwarding. Do your research, and you'll get it working. It is only impossible with particularly problematic router or hardware configurations, and even then I find that it is often actually possible, it merely requires a good VPN or some know-how. I’ve seen some absolutely absurd things happen, inventory items turning into game world props that i can drop on the floor, items randomly changing into different things when I pick them up, player and enemy models t-posing constantly, and the most bizarre bug of all that I experienced- I opened a door panel in deck 5 and instead of it unlocking it teleported me to some sort of gray beta testing room with cyborg assassins infinitely throwing ninja stars at me. Be wary though, it’s extremely buggy because it was rushed into the game last minute. I beat the whole game with my friend in co-op using hamachi to connect to each other.
